California’s Micro Bakery with French Soul
The Art of Pastry, locally made, rooted in tradition.
Farm to Table —
The Tarte is a Livermore-based microbakery producing artisanal, handmade breads and pastries using traditional baking techniques—grounded in family tradition and elevated by the elegance of classic French baking.
Tradition, not Trend.
At The Tarte, we bake small on purpose.
We’re just getting started as a local microbakery in Livermore—but baking has been part of our life since childhood. From learning alongside our grandmother to exchanging tips with bakers around the world, pastry has always been a passion.
Now, after 10 years in the Bay Area, we’re proud to share handmade breads and pastries crafted in small batches, using traditional techniques and local ingredients—with heart, heritage, and a lot of butter.
No Factory. No Shortcuts.
What we bake is only as good as what we bake with.
We choose ingredients the same way we choose recipes: with care, intention, and a deep respect for quality. From locally milled flours and seasonal fruits to organic eggs and fresh butter, every element matters.
We believe in using fewer, better ingredients—and letting them shine. That means working with local farms, avoiding shortcuts, and embracing natural flavor over artificial flair.
Coming Soon: Microbakery Preorders
Weekly batches ahead —
We’re almost ready to open weekly preorders for our small-batch bakes — made by hand, from scratch, right here in Livermore.
Each week, we’ll offer a limited selection of naturally leavened sourdough breads and premium viennoiseries: classic croissants, Belgian-style waffles, cinnamon rolls, and other favorites from our roots.
As we grow, so will the menu — adding modern, seasonal tarts and new specialty items.
And we’re thinking beyond the kitchen too.
Our vision includes some food truck, bringing The Tarte to local markets, neighborhoods, and events across the Bay Area.
We bake the old way — honest, handcrafted, and powered by butter. No shortcuts, no secrets. Just tradition reimagined for today.
